Short description of D3.2 Report on mapping of demand and offer for NC skills to the Skills framework

The task 3.2 Mapping the demand /supply to NCS aims to classify the NC skills for specific jobs and sectors by analyzing selected occupations in the Deliverable 2.1 (NC Skills Framework) with the demanded NC skills for them based on results obtained in Deliverable 3.1 and also the consultation with stakeholders in selected sectors (human resource experts, employers etc.), collecting this information through workshops in consortium countries, surveys, etc. These results, and results that are shown in the Deliverable 3.3 about the design of the recommended system, considering language incompatibilities among language of the training resources and the individual users language proficiency, or specific requests by specific sectors or industries, will feed this deliverable 3.2.

In this deliverable, you will find three main sections:

Section 1 will map NCS skills demand to our NCSF framework. This section will show you an analysis performed from different big sources of data, as the CEDEFOP Ovate portal1 and job portals like Indeed2, using web scrapping techniques for this last one, and a comparison of results between these two sources. Finally, we also analyze the different occupations and their sectors showing how to match them with the user’s interests. The section shows the structure of the big data files on NCS demand for each occupation which complement this report and which are the essential item for feeding the system of the Skills Match project to guide users in both employment and training decisions.

Section 2 presents the mapping of the information from a big repository of MOOC information to the NCS from the NCSF framework. The results allow us offering information on the supply of NCS through online learning opportunities. The section is complemented by a statistical analysis on the number of MOOCs related to each NCS of the NCSF and the consequences in terms of availability of NCS development opportunities. The section shows the structure of the big data file on NCS supply for each NCS which complement this report.

Section 3 aims to present different case studies related to different sectors of the ESCO classification. Our objective in this section is to exemplify the application of the previous information to the mapping of supply and demand on a representative set of cases of what a user may need when using the Skills Match system.
